AEVAL – Felt Piano Plugin VST3 / AU
Natural Sound Of A Unique Piano
Sampled from a 64-key Klavins Una Corda piano using high-end Schoeps microphones, this instrument has a rich and natural sonic character, captured with ten round robins, over a thousand key touch and release samples, as well as additional resonance layers. Performance noises such as pedal sounds, the creaking of the piano bench, rustling of clothes, and the breathing of the pianist can be added if desired.
Wide Range Of Tonal Possibilities
The interface allows for a wide range of tonal shaping, from soft, intimate or dark felt textures to clear and bright tones.
Cinematic Features
Additional reverse and “dream” layers as well as a soft-attack “bloom” effect make the instrument also well suited for ambient & cinematic territory.
Extended Range
The original 64-key range of the Una Corda (A0–C6) has been extended to 77 keys (C0–E6) for greater musical flexibility.

A Beautifully Imperfect Felt Piano
AEVAL was created from a very unusual instrument: a Klavins Una Corda piano — intimate, soft and rich in mechanical detail.
Unlike the polished perfection of large concert grands, this piano feels human. Little imperfections, noises of felt and hammers and uneven resonances are not hidden — they are part of the emotional character of the instrument.
The result is a felt piano VST that feels less like a sterile sample library and more like a living instrument.
Captured In Great Detail
AEVAL was recorded using high-end Schoeps CMC-64 microphones that capture all the details, tiny noises and unique room reverb.
Ten round robins, detailed release samples, a resonance layer and optional performance noises create a highly organic playing experience.
The instrument responds with delicate tonal variations and natural imperfections that make repeated notes feel alive and believable.
Intimate, Nostalgic & Dreamlike
AEVAL can sound like a relatively clean, "classical" piano, inspired by old recordings of Schumann, Chopin and others that I enjoy listening to, but if you push the felt, timbre and mechanical noise controls further, it will start to sound very intimate and muffled. If you want to go even further, you can add effects such as reverse played notes and blooming attack.
Designed Like An Old Fairy Tale Book
AEVAL’s interface was designed like an old, magical fairy tale book – atmospheric and inspirational.
Behind the minimal main interface with only four knobs lies a second page filled with detailed controls for resonance, mechanical and performance noise, reverb, dynamics, and cinematic effects.
The goal was not to create a technical-looking plugin, but an instrument that feels beautiful and inspiring. Something closer to opening a magical, forgotten book than operating software.
For Quiet, Emotional & Cinematic Music
Film Scoring
Delicate felt sound and cinematic effects make AEVAL ideal for emotional film music and storytelling.
Ambient Music
Dream layers, reverse layers and soft attack "bloom" create immersive ambient soundscapes.
Indie Games
Organic imperfections and nostalgic character work beautifully for atmospheric indie games.
Neo-Classical
AEVAL is especially suited for calm, introspective neo-classical music and shines with high realism in this style.
“I've always loved instruments that have something unique about them, instruments that feel like they have a soul of their own.”
